DIY Summer Wedding

Summer is the most perfect time of the year for a wedding–I LOVE summer weddings! To kick off this summer, 3D-Memoirs featured a DIY Summer Bridal Shower Inspiration post including some awesome DIY ideas and lovely Wedding Paper Divas eye-candy! (If you missed it, please check it out!) Fast forward a couple months and wow, can you believe that summer is almost over? Before summer becomes fall, I thought I would share some creative ideas and unique concepts for a DIY Summer Wedding!  You are in for a real treat! I can’t take all the credit for this wonderful post, as you will see below I have two wonderful ladies that have contributed to the amazing content in this post!

The color palette that I chose for this DIY Summer Wedding post is SHERBET (like the ice-cream):

Based upon these bright summer colors, Sara from Burnett’s Boards (inspiration for bright-minded brides), was so kind to develop a special Sherbet wedding inspiration board just for this post! After I shared with her that the inspirational vibe for this DIY summer wedding post was “fresh, fun, and romantic using vibrant sherbet colors with a touch of elegance (gold accents)”, this is the lovely board that she came up with:

(Make sure you stop by Sara’s blog, Burnett’s Boards, to check out all of her unique and creative inspiration boards–you will definitely find the wedding inspiration that you are looking for! I am a personal fan of Burnett’s Boards and I am sure you will become one too!)

I was lucky enough to be proposed to amongst the beautiful vineyards in Temecula (Bella Vista Winery), so this post is near and dear to my heart and a personal favorite– I hope that you enjoy it and find lots of lovely rustic vineyard inspiration for your wedding!

DIY wedding? Free wedding printables!

Save some money and make your own paper suite (invitations, response cards, place cards, table numbers/names, favor tags, etc). If you lack the time and creativity here are some FREE wedding printables I found on Intimate Weddings website. (There are other printables available there as well.)

I love these creative place cards found on Martha Stewart Weddings website. (Click the pictures below to go to the site and download the free printables.)

Patterned placecards

Butterfly placecards

This oozes creativity…LOVE IT!

What’s In a Name?

Some guests are too shy to share their life stories. Help them bypass the small talk and go straight for the good stuff with introductory cards that reveal shared interests or personal triumphs.

Play It
When a guest slides out her place card (calligraph her name under our design), she’ll see an arrow pointing to the left with the name of the person seated there, plus an interesting tidbit (e.g., “Joel was a Connecticut tap-dancing finalist!”). A second arrow shares info on the person seated to her right.
